Romanians in the World. 35 Years of Freedom

On Friday, 13 December 2024, the Romanian Doctors Association in NRW together with the Association of Romanian Teachers in NRW organized the event „Romanians in the World. 35 Years of Freedom”.
The event opened with a musical moment by Luiza Portier, who performed a series of Romanian carols on the viola. This was followed by welcome remarks from the presidents of the two associations, Prof. Simona Pop and Dr. Laurențiu Gafencu.
The special guest was Prof. Dr. Adrian Cioroianu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania and Director of the National Library of Romania. He gave a lecture on Romania's evolution over the past 35 years, highlighting historical decisions that contributed to the country's rapid development, as well as prospects for the fruitful growth of the Romanian diaspora. Prof. Cioroianu also answered questions from participants.
The official program concluded with a carol recital performed by soloists Cezar Baltag, Nicolae Ilincăi, Sergiu Garabajii, Andres Groza, Cătălin Moței, and Ștefan Muț.
The festive evening was attended by Rainer Lehni, President of the Association of Transylvanian Saxons in Germany, by Fr. Gabriel Sacrieriu, Fr. Siluan Cârstea, and Fr. Teodor Tăbuș, representing various Romanian Orthodox communities in NRW, by Johanna Boss, Vice President of the Atheneum Düsseldorf Association, as well as by many members and supporters of the two associations.
Archpriest Dr. Iosif Cristian Rădulescu, the moderator of the event, thanked everyone at the end for their participation and contribution to the success of the evening.
